The power of Find folders.

August 22, 2009 11:37 am

Here’s a trick not to proxy to another mailbox and still see the mailbox that you have proxy rights for in your mailbox or in a panel view.

First of all you need proxy rights.
Now start a Find from your mailbox.
In the Find window, unselect your own mailbox (on top of the “Look in” list) and select the mailbox you have proxy rights for.
Click on OK.
Now you see the items you have rights to see for the selected mailbox.
Save this Find as a folder in your mailbox.
If you want to see this in a panel view, edit or create a panel view and add the saved Find folder to the panel view.

This shows the power a Find folder has in GroupWise.

FYI – This is what I do when setting up a test system. I give myself proxy rights to the test mailboxes, then add all of them to a saved Find folder called “Test mailboxes”. I only have to open that folder in my own client and I can check out all items in the test mailboxes.
