This message contains critical information that all employees will need to understand and act upon.
The recent passage of the U.S. Energy Policy Act of 2005, which extends Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. and Canada by three weeks in the spring and one week in the fall, will affect some messages sent out by GroupWise, Exchange, or any other collaboration system. Appointments sent out before appropriate measures have been taken may be off by one hour during the period from mid-March to early April, and for the first week of November. The dates this will impact your system are: March 11-31 and October 29 – November 4.
Since every desktop must be manually updated with the correct patches, we want to make you aware of the need to check your own calendar for appointment accuracy. Please find the attached document that walks users through how to set up a GroupWise folder that will search your calendar for affected appointments during the DST time-zone changes. In addition, we recommend you include the intended time of day for your appointments during this period in the subject line of each appointment you send out. This way you and your co-workers will know what time the meeting is intended to be held.
Novell has released a time zone update for SUSE Linux Desktop 10 and Microsoft has released a time zone update for Windows XP SP2, Windows Server 2003, and and WS 2003 SP1. Vista ships with the appropriate time zone information. For additional details, please see the following:

When appointments have been sent before workstations have been updated, and those appointments fall into the affected times, the senders of those appointments are advised to resend them after their time zone information has been updated.
