Johnson Matthey is a specialty chemicals company and leading player in advanced materials technology. Providing products and services to combat pollution, refine precious metals and fine chemicals, the company develops niche products that enhance the quality of life for millions around the world. Founded in 1817, Johnson Matthey has 7,700 employees located in 30 countries and annual revenues of more than USD 4.7 billion.

Challenge

Effective worldwide collaboration was a challenge for Johnson Mathey. With offices in remote locations such as Haryana where network administrators were in short supply, the IT staff could not provide employees with consistent network upgrades or timely resolution of network issues. Johnson Matthey needed a solution to provide secure and reliable communication over intranets, extranets and the Internet. The new system needed to ensure authorized access to information and protect its network from both internal and external threats.
