This is our first post and I admit we had to ponder for a bit before we started writing. We’ve received so much positive feedback over the years about the Technical Subscriptions product line. We release on a monthly basis, unlike other products at Novell, so our partners and customers never have to wait too long to find out what’s new and exciting. So why blog?

Well, it’s a great way to get some ideas out to our partners, and it’s also an easy way for partners to get to know the team better and submit comments. Also, we can open up a dialogue between partners who might be experiencing similar business situations and can share ideas.

This is not necessarily a technical blog though. After all, there are so many resources available to partners to help them implement Novell products in customer environments. The Technical Subscriptions blog, much like the Technical Subscriptions library is part of a business support system, helping our partners do more with what they have, so that they can grow their businesses and be more successful.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sending out a survey to you, our partners, asking you to give us some feedback on what parts of the Technical Subscriptions Library you value. We want to hear the good, the bad and the ugly, so we’ve added a comments field. If you want to submit a comment anonymously, you can, but if you want to put your name and contact information in there so we can follow up with you, that would be great. The more we know, the better our products will be.

Our current release – August 2009 – has been in your hands for a few weeks already, so you’ve had some time to explore the latest versions of Novell Identity Manager, Novell eDirectory and Novell Sentinel. Maybe you’ve also noticed the great new features of 3.1 Novell Edition?

If you work in the identity and security space and have implemented the Novell Compliance Management Platform, hopefully you’re looking at the new white paper that covers compliance across SAP and non-SAP systems. Organizations in over 120 countries rely on SAP to get the most out of their IT investments. By creating an extension to our award-winning Novell Compliance Management Platform for SAP environments, our partners can now bring Novell technology to a whole new customer base.

There are so many other resources in the Novell Technical Subscriptions product, and our highlights letter goes into more detail. And while you are looking at the August release, you’ll be pleased to hear that we have just completed the September 2009 release which will be shipping at the end of this month. I won’t spoil the surprise, but suffice to say, there are some great new products we’ve included for the very first time.
