Special Testing Request

Beta 2 is available via System Update! We would like you to try updating from Beta 1 to Beta 2 via System Update and let us know your experience. Please note that updating from a build other than Beta 1 is not supported.

Steps to update:

  1. In ZENworks Control Center, click the Configuration tab.
  2. In the Product Licensing panel, click ZENworks 10 Configuration Management to display the Product Activation – ZENworks 10 Configuration Management page.
  3. Type the following Beta 1 key into the Product License Key field:
  4. 71AF6546-17E8F9243581

  5. Click OK to activate the license.
  6. Click the System Updates tab at the top of the page.
  7. In the Available System Updates panel, click Actions, then click Check for Updates.
  8. Select the check box next to ZENworks 10 (10.2) Pre_Beta2, then click Download Update. This pre-update is necessary to resolve an issue with system update that was present in Beta 1.
  9. Deploy the update.
  10. Select the check box next to Support Pack 2 for ZENworks 10 (10.2) Beta2 , then click Download Update.
  11. Deploy the update.

What’s New in this build?

Installation

  • Update from ZENworks 10 Configuration Management SP2 Beta 1 to Beta 2 by using the System Update feature.

Satellite

  • Move a Satellite device from one parent Primary to another and the content hosted on the Satellite device will be replicated to the new parent Primary.

Licensing

  • Deactivating ZENworks 10 Configuration Management SP2 on a device automatically deactivates ZENworks 10 Patch Management SP2 on the device.
  • Activating ZENworks 10 Patch Management SP2 on a device automatically activates ZENworks 10 Configuration Management SP2 if it has been deactivated on the device.

ZENworks 10 Configuration Management SP2 moves from the deactivated state to its previous license state. For example, if ZENworks 10 Configuration Management SP2 was in Evaluation state before getting deactivated, it moves back to Evaluation state.

Asset Management

  • Usage Monitor (client-side) support for the standalone installation.

Discovery and Deployment

  • Install the ZENworks Adaptive Agent with selected features.

Imaging

  • Support for Symantec GHOST.
  • Disable, enable, uninstall, or install the Image Management feature on a managed device.

Remote Management

  • Disable, enable, uninstall, or install the Remote Management feature on a managed device.

Bundles and Actions

  • Disable, enable, uninstall, or install the Bundle Management feature on a managed device.
  • Disable, enable, uninstall, or install the Patch Management feature on a managed device.
  • Disable or uninstall Bundle Management and Patch Management features on a managed device.

Policy Management

  • Disable, enable, uninstall, or install the Policy Management feature on a managed device that has the Remote Management policy either enabled or disabled.

Reporting

  • Support for 64-bit (x86-64) architecture.
  • Support for Windows 2008 platform.
  • Use of BusinessObjects Reporting Engine XI R3.1 instead of BusinessObjects Enterprise Reporting Engine XI R2 SP2.
