Remarks

An instance of a printer class is created during printer installation in a server-based printer. The printer instance is mapped to a print device through a print device subsystem (PDS) and perhaps a port handler. A printer embedded in a print device requires a configuration utility to handle printer specific aspects and uses NWADMIN to create the required NDPS objects. The printer class instance is deleted by using the same mechanisms. Only an administrator can create or delete a printer. The mandatory attributes must be created when a printer class object is created. Implemented and supported attributes will be created by the printer if the printer supports the attribute.
