Loading the DHCP Server

To load a DHCP Server object, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a DHCP Server object. For more information, see Deleting a DHCP Server .

  2. Create a Subnet object, and assign a default DHCP server to it. For more information, see Creating a Subnet object .

  3. Enter the following command at the DHCP server console:

    LOAD DHCPSRVR

After you load DHCPSRVR.NLM, the DHCP server can respond to client requests and assign IP addresses. For information about other command line options, see DHCPSRVR Command Line Options .

After DHCPSRVR.NLM is loaded, you can use the DNS/DHCP Management Utility to start and stop the DHCP Server. For more information on starting and stopping the DHCP server, see Starting or Stopping a DHCP Server .
