Welcome to the Novell exteNd Messaging Platform's JMS - a 100% Java implementation of the JavaTM Message Service (JMS). This implementation supports all features of the JMS specification, including transactional messaging and connection consumers. Also, several additional features such as clustering, security, built-in namespace and administration are supported.
This tutorial provides an introduction to JMS and describes several sample programs that demonstrate the product features. For a higher level introduction, please see the concepts guide. The structure of the tutorial is intended to reflect a typical learning curve for the product - it starts with basic concepts and gradually moves on to more advanced concepts.
Although the tutorial is intended to provide you with everything you need to know to develop messaging applications with JMS, we recommend that you also consult the FAQ for short Q/A's and solutions to common problems. You can also skip straight to the example overview for a brief description of all the examples.
Please let us know if you have suggestions for improving any part of the JMS product, including this tutorial. Whether you have discovered a bug in the product, a problem with the documentation or need additional example programs, we want to know! Use extendsupport@novell.com to provide feedback.
