These release notes include information about the SilverStream Enterprise Data Connectors.
SilverStream requirements
You must install the following SilverStream software:
- The SilverStream Server
- The EDC server-side components (for development and deployment). The server-side components are NT only.
- The EDC client-side components (for development).
Lotus Notes requirements
To use the EDC for Lotus Notes, you must install the following Notes software:
- Lotus Notes Domino Server Version 4.6
- Lotus Notes Workstation Client Version 4.6 (This must be installed on the same machine as the SilverStream Application Server.)
- Lotus Notes C++ API
The C++ API, an additional DLL, which is provided by Lotus Development Corp, is required to interface to Notes.
This DLL can be obtained from the Lotus web site at http://www.lotus.com.
Choose "Products","C++ API", "Download the C++ API Toolkit." Please note the licensing requirements for the use of this DLL. The only file needed from the zip file you will download is "lcppn20.dll." This file should be placed on your path; SilverStream suggests the Notes root directory. The Notes root directory must also be added to the PATH of the user running the SilverStream server.The C++ API Release 2.0 supports Notes and Domino releases 4.5 and later, it does not support earlier releases.
PeopleSoft requirements
To use the EDC for PeopleSoft you must install the PeopleSoft software listed below.
- The PeopleSoft Server Version 7.5
- The client portion of the PeopleTools software Version 7.5. (This must be installed on the same machine as the SilverStream Server.)
If you will be using the PeopleSoft EDC in an environment where JMAC is not available, you must also add the location of the PeopleSoft client library to your PATH. For example, C:\pt750\bin\CLIENT\WINX86
SAP R/3 requirements
To use the EDC for SAP R/3, you must install the following SAP R/3 software before installing the SilverStream components:
- SAP R/3 Version 2.x and higher.
- SilverStream uses software from the SAP Automation 4.5B package to access SAP data. This can be downloaded from the web at http://www.saplabs.com .
- You need to install the component "RFC Components" on the SilverStream Server machine and on SilverStream Designer machine which will be used to build SAP DSOs. This must be done before the SilverStream installation.
- The JRFC/Orbix server which was needed by SilverStream Version 2.5, is not used by SilverStream Version 3.
