2.9 Preventing a Backup From Expiring

If you have a backup that you do not want to have expire and be removed from the GWDR server you can freeze the backup to prevent the backup from being removed from the server.

This action is found under <profile name> | Backups | Actions of Existing Backups

2.9.1 To Freeze a Backup

  1. To freeze a backup click on Freeze a Backup From Deletion to open the backup selector.

  2. Select a Backup from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click the Freeze Backup button.

  4. A new tab will open to state that it will take about 2 minutes for the backup to show up as frozen in the interface. This will be show with a “_F” after the name of the backup. You can close this tab immediately.

2.9.2 To Un-freeze a Backup

  1. To un-freeze a backup click on Un-freeze a Backup to open the backup selector.

  2. Select a frozen Backup with a “_F” suffix from the dropdown menu.

  3. Click the Un-Freeze Backup button.

  4. A new tab will open to state that it will take about 2 minutes for the backup to show up as un-frozen in the interface. If the backup is eligible for deletion, it will be removed during the nightly maintenance. You can close this tab immediately.
