Backing Up a Domain

All critical domain-level information is stored in the domain database (wpdomain.db).

On NetWare, use a Target Service Agent (GWTSA or TSAFS) with a supported backup program or other backup software of choice to back up each domain database to a secure location. For details about how to use a Target Service Agent, see Target Service Agents.

On Linux and Windows, use your backup software of choice to back up each domain database to a secure location. For a list of compatible products, see the Partner Product Guide. You can also use the GroupWise Database Copy utility (DBCopy) and the GroupWise Time Stamp utility (GWTMSTMP) to assist with backups. For details about how to use these utilities, see Standalone Database Maintenance Programs. If your backup software cannot handle open files, stop the MTA for the domain while the backup of the domain database takes place.
