Provisioning request definitions are directory objects that encapsulate the business rules for granting or revoking a corporate resource or a role, and bind the corporate resource or role to a workflow. The workflow determines the order in which a request is processed. Provisioning request definitions are displayed in the User Application in the tab as provisioning requests and in the tab as role assignment requests.
Roles based provisioning requests definitions are a special type of provisioning request definition. They allow users to request roles which grant them permissions to resources and not to the resources themselves. Identity Manager ships two roles based provisioning request definitions for role approval and for SoD conflict approval. These provisioning request definitions are read-only.
