Product Overview

Novell iPrint Appliance is a virtual appliance that offers cross-platform, self-service printing for the enterprise. It allows users to print from your current printers from their desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Novell iPrint Appliance supports Active Directory as well. It scales to fit organizations of any size and provides a single solution to manage all your printing needs across multiple locations.

The appliance runs as a virtual machine within any virtualization environment such as VMware, Windows Hypervisor, or Xen.

Key Features for iPrint Appliance 1.1

  • You can now bulk import printers into iPrint Appliance through a csv file.
  • Improved migration with iPrint Client Management (iCM) and Access Control Lists (ACLs) support.
  • You can now rename a printer from the Printers page in the Management console. Select a printer you want to rename, click the Configure menu, then click Rename Printer.

  1. Click the Download button next to the following files:

    This file installs iPrint Appliance on VMware and Citrix Xen.

    This file installs iPrint Appliance on SLE Xen.

    This file installs iPrint Appliance on Hyper-V.
    NP-iPrint-Trial-60-Desktop-Mobile-XML.zip The 60-day evaluation license file.

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to download the file to a temporary directory on a server where your virtualization software is running.
  3. Follow the instructions in the Novell iPrint Appliance Administration Guide to finish installing and configuring the iPrint system.
  4. Download and extract the license file. This file is used to update the product license. By default, iPrint ships with a 60-day evaluation license. For more information, see License in the Novell iPrint Appliance 1.1 Administration Guide.
