Product Description

NetIQ Secure Configuration Manager helps you to proactively enforce security configuration policy across critical systems in evolving IT environments. This product allows you to automatically discover assets in your enterprise, organize and map the network topology, and deploy agents as needed to assess your protection levels.

Secure Configuration Manager helps security teams build a continuous process for identifying and alerting on instances in which critical system configurations drift from policy. Intuitive reporting gives teams the security information they need to rapidly identify and remediate poor configurations before real damage can occur. By delivering configuration and vulnerability assessments, user entitlement reporting, baselining and delta reporting, a security and compliance dashboard, and exception management, Secure Configuration Manager enables you to demonstrate compliance with organizational policies and manage information security risk.

SHA-256 Verification Checksums

Checksum values are used to verify the integrity of downloaded files by allowing you to compare the checksum of the original file against a newly-calculated checksum of the file you just downloaded. The checksums here are calculated using the SHA-256 algorithm. Linux/UNIX and Mac hosts have built-in utilities to calculate and compare checksums (see sha256sum); for Windows, several free utilities are available on the web to help you with this process.
