Product Description

Secure Configuration Manager Module for SCAP 7.0 (the SCAP module) enables your organization to implement the standards established by federal computer configuration initiatives: United States Government Configuration Baseline (USGCB) and Federal Desktop Core Configuration (FDCC). Using the components of the SCAP Module, you can assess desktops and identify which systems are out of compliance. You can also create the necessary reports required by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget to demonstrate compliance with the standards.

The SCAP Module enables you to import properly formatted XCCDF content, and then use the content in Secure Configuration Manager as policy templates. For example, you can download the XCCDF content from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) web site.

For more information about the SCAP Module and Secure Configuration Manager capabilities, see Secure Configuration Manager Features.

SHA-256 Verification Checksums

Checksum values are used to verify the integrity of downloaded files by allowing you to compare the checksum of the original file against a newly-calculated checksum of the file you just downloaded. The checksums here are calculated using the SHA-256 algorithm. Linux/UNIX and Mac hosts have built-in utilities to calculate and compare checksums (see sha256sum); for Windows, several free utilities are available on the web to help you with this process.

System Requirements
