8.7 Modifying NSS Settings

To optimize the performance, modify the following NSS settings using the system console before you start using the NFS Gateway.

Set the BufferFlushTimer parameter = 1
This forces NSS to flush the buffer cache to the NFS server after one second, which is the earliest possible time.
Set the ClosedFileCacheSize parameter based on the system memory
For example, if the ClosedFileCacheSize parameter value = 100,000 then the memory can hold up to 100,000 metadata of files or directories at any point of time.

If there are more than 100,000 entries in a directory, we recommend that the ClosedFileCacheSize parameter value be increased.
