1.0 What's New
The following features and defect fixes are new in Novell® Modular
Authentication Services (NMAS™) 3.1.
- Support for filtered replicas. See
the eDirectory
8.8 Administration Guide.
- Passwords can be synchronized from filtered replicas
by Novell Identity Manager.
- During login, if you have the "Verify whether existing
passwords comply with the password policy verification occurs on
login" rule enabled on the password policy, the NDS Password login
method will verify if the current password complies with the current
password policy. See the Password
Management Administration Guide.
- NMAS login integration with eDirectory has been
improved to increase performance and scalability.
- On Windows, the intruder lock out notification is
no longer displayed in a message box but is logged to the nmas.log
file (in the same directory as nmas.dlm).
- NMAS 3.1 supports both eDirectory 8.7.3 and 8.8.
- NMAS correctly enforces user address restrictions.
- The length of the failed login delay can now be
configured.
- Novell Identity Manager can now retrieve the previous
distribution password.
- A user is now able to change a password if the password
is expired and the password history is full and/or if the
minimum password lifetime has not expired. See the Password
