You can choose the default settings for a printer driver when it is installed on the workstation. For example, in a law office you might want the default paper size to be legal size. This means every time the printer and corresponding driver are installed on a workstation, the paper size is set to legal size.
Beginning with NetWare® 6.5 Support Pack 2, the ability to set the printer’s default settings has been removed from the iPrint Map Designer and moved to iManager. Any settings specified on a map are overwritten by the driver settings in iManager. To modify the printer’s default settings for printers hosted on NetWare, use iManager.
