Supporting Queue-Based Client Workstations

If your network includes clients like Macintosh and OS/2 that are not able to send jobs to Printer Agents directly, the backward compatibility of Novell Distributed Print Services (NDPS) allows these clients to submit jobs to the same queues they always have. Then the Printer Agent can retrieve jobs from these queues and print them.

If you want a printer to service legacy queues, here's how to set it up.

  1. In Novell iManager click iPrint Management > Manage Printer.

  2. Browse to and select the printer you want to enable Access Control for.

  3. Click Client Support > QMS Support.

  4. Modify (add to/delete from) the Service Jobs from NetWare Queues list.

  5. Click OK or Apply to save the settings.
