Changing the Server Keyboard Type

NetWare allows you to use keyboard types other than U.S. English by loading the KEYB utility. The language you specify with KEYB must match the language of your keyboard, not the language of the server. The keyboard type can be changed without restarting the server.

IMPORTANT:  Changing the keyboard type causes some of the keys on your keyboard to represent different characters. Do not use this command unless you have the appropriate keyboard for the language you are specifying and you are familiar with the keyboard's use. Otherwise, you might not know which keys to use to change the keyboard back to its original language.

  1. At the System Console prompt, enter

    [LOAD] KEYB

  2. From the list of keyboard types, find the keyboard type that matches the one you are using.

  3. To change the keyboard type to match your keyboard, enter

    [LOAD] KEYB keyboard_type

    For example:

    [LOAD] KEYB GERMANY

For more information, see "KEYB" in Utilities Reference.
