If you need to install OES to multiple systems that perform similar tasks and that share the same environment and similar but not necessarily identical hardware, you might want to use AutoYaST to perform the installation.
To use AutoYaST, first you use the Configuration Management tool (> > ) to generate an XML profile file (referred to as a control file) and use it to perform OES installations to multiple servers that share the same hardware and environments. You can also tailor this control file for any specific environment. You then provide this control file to the YaST2 installation program.
This section does not provide complete AutoYaST instructions. It provides only the additional information you need when setting up AutoYaST to install multiple OES 2018 or later servers.
For complete instructions on using AutoYaST2, see Automatic Linux Installation and Configuration with Yast2. You can also access the documentation locally on an OES server in /usr/share/doc/packages/autoyast2/html/index.html.
You can also use the cloning option to create clones of a particular installation. To clone a system:
Selectat the end of the installation.
Use the command yast2 clone_system post installation.
This creates /root/autoinst.xml that can be used for cloning. For more information, see SUSE AutoYast Guide.
