OpenText recommends that you consider securing the connection between Retain and the database server.
To prepare for securing the connection, make sure that you have identified the certificate files described below and made them available to install on the Retain server while running the initial configuration wizard:
All the supported database types (MariaDB, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MSSQL) support secure database connections with Retain. We support certificates from industry-recognized Certificate Authorities and Self-signed certificates.
For the Retain server, we support industry-recognized CA issued certificates, and Self-signed certificates.
Following are the supported and certified files formats:
MSSQL - .pfx
Postgres - .pem and .crt
MariaDB -.pem and .crt
MySQL - .pem and .crt
Oracle - .p12
