Retain provides organizations with legal compliance and litigation protection. It frees up disk space on messaging systems. It enhances message-data management. It allows you to archive and store messages and data from messaging systems and phones. Retain allows the administrators to manage archived messages, review archive status and activity, and generate reports on archived messages and data. For a detailed overview of Retain, see OpenText Retain CE 24.4: How Retain Works.
This section summarizes the new features and enhancements in the Retain 24.4 release and its patches.
Kerberos and NTLM authentication ensure a more secure login to Exchange Server than Basic authentication.
The Exchange Module supports Kerberos Authentication with NTLM as a fallback mechanism.
The Authentication tab in the Exchange Module has a checkbox that allows you to enable or disable Basic Authentication. When this is selected, and if Kerberos and NTLM authentication fails, the system falls back to Basic Authentication.
For more information, see Exchange Module Authentication and Enable or Disable Basic Authentication on Retain for the Exchange Module.
The About option is moved to the dropdown under the Help menu on the Retain landing page. An option called Idea Exchange is added here. This option takes you to Retain’s Idea Exchange portal. For more information, see Utility Navigations.
A new field has been added on the O365 Authentication tab where you can specify an email address that can be used as the impersonation user for the autodiscover process. For more information, see Authentication Tab.
While switiching between Search and Browse tabs on the Search page the search result and the folder structure of mailbox is retained.
In the Export Items tab, when we export the PST or PDF files, the completed items are sort by date. The latest item will be listed in the top.
