2.4 Bug Fixes and Enhancements

2.4.1 General Note

All bug fixes and enhancements will be listed here. These enhancements are not limited to the previous version of Retain and could affect other versions. Please refer to the online documentation for further clarification or contact Micro Focus

  • “Abort Job” button added to the Worker (RET-3653)

    A button has been added to the Worker Status page that can be used to abort an archive job if the button in the Server UI is non-responsive.

  • Change to BlackBerry Module configuration disables job (RET-5382)

    A modification to the BES logfile path would be ignored unless a subsequent change was made to the job.

  • Eliminate duplicate search results in GroupWise client (RET-7925)

    When searching the Retain archive within the GroupWise client, the results could contain duplicate entries.

  • Search Performance Optimization (RET-8715)

    To reduce the processing power required by the automatic search (search as you type) feature, it is disabled by default and can be activated through a configuration setting.

  • Out of Memory error (RET-9076)

    Optimized library usage to reduce memory consumption during archiving process.

  • GroupWise Retention Flag not advanced (RET-9322)

    At times, the Retention Flag was not being advanced beyond the date of a message that had been selected to be skipped.

  • Archive Summary report did not include errors for REST-based jobs (RET-9382)

  • Device registration fails to complete with non-numeric characters (RET-9341, RET-9439)

    Non-numeric characters in the phone number field would prevent batch device registration from completing and would generate “Unable to register device” and “Unrecognized field ‘error’” messages during automatic device registration.

  • Address Exception in SMTP forwarding (RET-9445)

    Characters in sender and recipient addresses that violate RFC 822 are now handled so they can be forwarded.

  • Apache fails to load on restart (RET-9460)

    The configuration used for support of web sockets failed on versions of Apache prior to 2.4.5.

  • BBM Configuration export file (RET-9467)

    The archiving URL, Device Transmission Frequency, and Only Archive Protected Messages settings were not stored properly in the BBMConfig.xml file.

  • BlackBerry device registration (RET-9472)

    The device provisioning process would stop unexpectedly.

  • Inability to remove users from list of selected mailboxes in search (RET-9511)

    Additional mailboxes could be added to, but not removed from a revised search.

  • “Unauthorized access attempt” when using the Forward function (RMA-90, RMA157)

    A change was made in the Retain Server to fix a problem with the Forward function in the Retain Mobile apps for Android and iOS.
