1.0 Introduction

This document outlines the new features and changes in Retain 4.9.1.

2.0 Installing Retain 4.9.1

3.0 Upgrading to Retain 4.9.1

To upgrade a Retain system that is running Retain 4.8.1 or later, simply download and install the Retain 4.9.1 software.

If you are running a version earlier than 4.8.1, follow the upgrade paths that are documented in Upgrading to Retain 4.9.1 in the Retain 4.9.1: Installation and Upgrade guide.

4.0 New and Changed Features in Retain 4.9.1

  • PST Export

  • Context-sensitive Help

    In the browser-based management tool, click either Help or the Information icon in the upper-right section of the screen.

  • Secure Database Connection support for MySQL and MariaDB.

  • Additional changes of interest are:

    • RET-7494: Administrator notifications for extraction errors is now an optional setting

    • RET-9501: Retain accounts named "admin" are no longer subject to default account expiration behavior

    • RET-10817: Search criteria are preserved when switching Retain tabs

    • RET-12372: SMG channel names not supporting User-level archiving are now updated

    • RET-12721: The Jasper library is updated

    • RET-13769: Mailboxes to be archived are listed in Worker logs when jobs start

    • RET-13770: Whitelist option is added for Gmail domains

    • RET-13910: The bundled JDK is upgraded to version 11.0.8+10

5.0 Issues Resolved in Retain 4.9.1

The following issues of interest have been resolved in Retain 4.9.1.

  • RET-8320: Prevent duplicate This message has been archived by Retain category entries in Exchange mailboxes when option Mark emails as archived is enabled.

  • RET-8752: Added translation for message Loading in the SOAP configuration of the GroupWise module.

  • RET-8753: Added translation for "Global Catalog Security" drop-down list in User Forests tab in the Exchange module

  • RET-8757: Added translation for items in the OpenId tab of the Google Apps module

  • RET-9183: Corrected login behavior for "admin" user account when accessed by GroupWise Client Plugin

  • RET-10333: Added check for blank or empty module names during configuration

  • RET-10895: Added translation for "EMail fully indexed." in Message Properties

  • RET-11517: Added translation for "Hosted Services" tab of Exchange Module

  • RET-12369: Account Linking dialog choices changed to Yes and No

  • RET-12585: XLS files are not indexed

  • RET-12669: Invalid Date Selection possible

  • RET-12852: Added translation for Test connection in BlackBerry module page

  • RET-12862: Added translation for "Blackberry Unified Enterprise Management Server"

  • RET-12969: License expiration warning not shown for modules

  • RET-13004: Worker config is loaded every 11 seconds when logged into the worker page

  • RET-13117: RetainServer crashes when searching

  • RET-13122: Account linking not working for all accounts

  • RET-13191: Unable to set dates beyond 2020

  • RET-13285: Typo in Export Audit Table report

  • RET-13330: Incorrect Count on items selected if message deletion was run
