Creating a new Item during request creation

During the creation of a request, if enabled by the Administrator, a new Item can be generated and assigned to the request. To create a new Item when logging a request:

  1. Select the Request Type

  2. Set the Category

  3. Select the Type
    If an Item Types exists in the system with the Customer Create option enabled, inline_add.png becomes available next to the Item field when the Item Type is selected.

  4. Click inline_add.png to create the Item
    The fields defined for the Item Category are displayed

  5. Enter known Item information

  6. Continue to complete the request details
    Selecting a Classification and entering a Description is mandatory.

  7. Click Save.
    Both the new Item and request are created and saved.
