Novell Storage Manager for Active Directory introduces management and structure to an unmanaged and unstructured Novell network storage system. In the process, it automates the full life-cycle management of user and group storage. Leveraging directory services (commonly referred to as “the directory”), Novell Storage Manager automates a comprehensive set of storage management tasks based on events, identity, and policies that reside in the directory.

This update to Novell Storage Manager 4.0 for Active Directory is a maintenance release that offers new functionality and addresses several bug fixes.

• Export Policy Associations
  The policy associations are now exported when you export a policy.
• Bug Fixes
  Bugs that had previously affected the NSM Engine, Event Monitor, and database migration utility have been fixed. For detailed information, refer to the Novell Storage Manager 4.0.2 Release Notes.

Novell Storage Manager 4.0.2 for Active Directory is also available in the Novell File Management Suite, which includes Novell File Reporter and Novell Dynamic File Services.

The evaluation version of Novell Storage Manager for Active Directory is a full-featured version of the product, restricted to 30 days through an evaluation license. Once you download the product ISO and begin the installation of the NSMAdmin administrative tool, you can request an evaluation license. The timespan of the evaluation license begins the day that license is downloaded—rather than the day it is installed.
