This section provides procedures for installing a Microsoft SQL Server instance with the settings needed to support Micro Focus Storage Manager 5.0 for Active Directory.
Storage Manager 5.0 for Active Directory requires a Microsoft SQL Server as the database and no longer supports the SQLite database that was utilized in previous versions of the product. If you are migrating from Storage Manager 3.x for Active Directory to Version 5.0, in Chapter 4 the Database Configuration Wizard will guide you through the migration of your database content from SQLite to SQL Server.
IMPORTANT:Storage Manager 5.0 for Active Directory supports all versions of SQL Server 2012 and 2014, including the Express version.
