SUSE Linux Enterprise Real Time Extension 12 Service Pack 1

SUSE Linux Enterprise Real Time Extension 12 SP1 is specifically engineered to reduce the latency, increase the predictability and increase the reliability of time-sensitive, mission-critical applications.

It is a fully supported real-time operating system extension designed to work with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 12 SP1 and SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension 12 SP1.

Organizations that need to tightly control process execution will benefit from a graphical user interface that provides easy identification of timing problems.

Virtualization support reduces hardware costs by increasing the density of real-time systems on a single server or allowing a single server to support both real-time and standard virtual machines.

Download Instructions

SUSE Linux* Enterprise Real Time Extension (SLE RT) is available for download as two ISO images. Media 1 contains the binary packages and the source code, media 2 contains the debuginfo packages. For installation, only media 1 is needed.

Adding the SUSE Linux Enterprise Real Time Extension After Installation

To add the RT extension after you have already installed SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, start YaST2. Go to Software-Add-On Products add media 1 of the RT extension or a remote installation source. You can then either manually select the specific packages you want to install, or choose from the predefined patterns under the Install and Remove Software option. If you don't find a specific package that you need in any of the suggested usage patterns, try the package search. Some packages might not be included in a pattern.

You can then select the predefined RT pattern to automatically select the recommended packages for the RT extension, or manually choose a different list.
