SUSE Manager with Database
You are only allowed to download the appliance file above if you own a valid subscription for SUSE Manager with Database. You are only allowed to run one instance of this appliance per subscription you own!
SUSE Manager requires a database. SUSE provides two convenient deployment options for the database that are designed for customers' specific needs:
- SUSE Manager Server with Database (the version you can download on this page): This version of SUSE Manager Server comes with a highly scalable, embedded Oracle 11g Enterprise Edition database. In this case the database is part of the SUSE Manager Server appliance and runs on the same server.
- SUSE Manager Server: This option is available for customers that already have a separate Oracle database license to use with SUSE Manager. The Oracle database needs to be running on a separate operating system instance. It can not be installed on top of the SUSE Manager Server appliance. Refer to the SUSE Manager documentation or SUSE Manager documentation or http://www.suse.com/products/suse-manager/technical-information/#Database_Support for a list of supported databases.
