Added the following known issue: The ports required to install ZENworks 10 Asset Management SP2 on SLES 11 are not automatically opened
This version provides fixes to some of the issues discovered in ZENworks 10 Asset Management SP2.
For instructions on downloading and installing version 10.2.1 as an update, see ZENworks System Updates in the ZENworks 10 Asset Management System Administration Reference.
For administrative tasks, see the Novell ZENworks 10 Asset Management documentation Web site.
Some version 10.2.1 changes might have been included in the English version of the ZENworks 10 Asset Management SP2 guides after they were translated into other languages. We recommend that you check the English documentation for a complete list of the documentation updates. All untranslated documentation updates will be incorporated into the non-English versions of the online documentation with the next media release of ZENworks.
Version 10.2.1 has added support for the following:
SUSE® Linux Enterprise Server 11 (SLES 11) as a Primary Server and Satellite.
SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 11 (SLED 11) as a Satellite.
Version 10.2.1 has added support for the following versions of administration browsers:
Mozilla* Firefox* 3.0.10
Internet Explorer* 8
Version 10.2.1 is not supported on Windows* 7 RTM. However, if your testing environment includes Windows 7 RTM, you can begin testing Version 10.2.1 on those devices.
A new switch, -g, has been added to the zac register command. The -g switch allows you create a new device object with a new GUID and password for the device if you have multiple devices with the same GUID. When you register a device by using this switch, all the associations (policies and bundles) assigned to the original device object are removed. You cannot use this option to create a new GUID for a Primary Server or a Satellite device.
For more information about the usage of the switch, see the zac section in the Command Line Utilities Reference.
The ZENworks Asset Management Migration Utility includes improvements to help migrate a ZENworks 7 Desktop Management workstation and ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management workstation into one ZENworks 10 managed device while retaining all ZENworks 7 assignments and ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management data associated with the workstation.
For more information, see Migrating Both ZENworks 7 Desktop Management and ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management in the ZENworks 10 Asset Management Migration Utility Guide.
Some of the issues identified in the initial version of ZENworks 10 Asset Management SP2 have been resolved with this release. For a list of the resolved issues, see TID 7003766 in the Novell Support Knowledgebase.
Some of the issues that were discovered in the original shipping version of ZENworks 10 Asset Management SP2 have not yet been resolved. For continuing issues, review the ZENworks 10 Configuration Management SP2 Readme.
The Readme has been updated to indicate which issues were fixed by version 10.2.1.
Workaround: Manually open the ports that are required to install ZENworks 10 Asset on SLES 11. For detailed information on the ZENworks required ports, see the Primary Server Requirements section in the ZENworks 10 Asset Management SP2 Installation Guide.
ZENworks Reporting might not contain a reference to users that were created by using the ZENworks 10 Asset Management SP2 user source. Therefore, ZENworks Reporting fails when you log in to ZENworks Control Center by using an administrator account (such as Administrator@windowdomain.com) created in ZENworks Asset Management 10 SP2.
Workaround: On the ZENworks Reporting Server, use the following command to create users for the administrator account that was created by using the ZENworks 10 Asset Management SP2 user source:
zman rpau complete_user_name
where the complete_user_name is the administrator account, such as Administrator@windowdomain.com.
In the ZENworks Reporting Server InfoView, the Suites or Software Collection reports display inaccurate data if you add Installation dimensions to them. The Installation dimensions are located in> > > .
Several Migration Utility messages refer to a Migration Utility Messages topic in Help. This topic is missing. However, the information is included in Migrating Both ZENworks 7 Desktop Management and ZENworks 7.5 Asset Management in the ZENworks 10 Asset Management Migration Utility Guide.
