It is recommended that you first upgrade the servers on which Vertica is enabled and subsequently upgrade the other Primary Servers in the zone. However, if you are using an Embedded PostgreSQL database, then you need to first upgrade the server that hosts the database and then upgrade the servers on which Vertica is enabled.
