This section provides information about upgrading the Vertica database by using the Vertica Upgrade tool. The Vertica Upgrade tool allows the Database Administrators to upgrade the Vertica database packaged with the ZENworks appliances. Upgrading Vertica will add-in new features and bug fixes with enhanced security. The Vertica Upgrade tool is a stand-alone tool and includes all the required Vertica RPMs for the upgrade process. You can use this tool to upgrade the Vertica database, irrespective of the ZENworks version.
You should run the Vertica Upgrade tool on a node where Vertica is configured. This tool can upgrade both, a single node Vertica cluster or a multiple node Vertica cluster.
NOTE:The Vertica upgrade process involves upgrading Vertica through multiple versions. So, the upgrade process might take some time.
