Catalog Products

The Catalog Products page lets you create new catalog products and manage existing ones. The following information is provided for each catalog product included in the list:

Create a catalog product

  1. Click New > Catalog Product.

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts. Click the Help button if you need additional information.

Filter the Catalog Products list

  1. In the Search panel, specify the criteria to use for filtering the list:

    Name: Specify the text that the catalog product name (or folder name) must include. This is a partial match field that is case-insensitive.

    Manufacturer: Select a specific manufacturer, or select Any manufacturer.

    Product Type: Select a specific product type, or select Any product type.

    Platform: Select the platform (Windows or Mac) to match.

    Mfr. Part Number: Specify the text that the part number must include. This is an exact match field that is case-insensitive. You can use an * wildcard.

    Exclude Status: Select one of the following to match:

    • Any: Match any status.

    • Excluded: Match only the catalog products that are excluded from compliance calculations.

    • Not Excluded: Match catalog products that are not excluded.

    Reconciliation Status: Select one of the following to match:

    • Any: Match any status.

    • Reconciled: Match catalog products that are assigned to licensed products.

    • Unreconciled: Match catalog products that are not assigned.

    Include Subfolders: Select this option to search the current folder and its subfolders.

  2. Click Search to apply the search criteria and filter the list.

By default, the Catalog Products list displays all catalog products. You can modify the Search criteria to change which catalog products are displayed.

For example, you can display only the catalog products from a specific manufacturer, or you can display only the catalog products that are assigned to licensed products.

Be aware that folders only have values in the Name field. To display folders, all criteria fields other than Name and Type must be set to Any or left empty.

Create a folder

  1. Click New > Folder.

  2. Specify a new folder name.

  3. Specify a path.

  4. (Optional) Add a description.

  5. Click OK.

 

Move a catalog product

  1. Select a product.

  2. Click Move.

  3. Specify a new path.

  4. Click OK.

 

Delete a catalog product or a folder

  1. Select a catalog product or a folder.

  2. Click Delete.

Deleting a folder deletes all the catalog products in the folder.

Exclude a catalog product

  1. Select a catalog product.

  2. Click Action > Exclude.

An excluded catalog product cannot be added to a licensed product’s entitlements.

By default, the Catalog Product list shows both included and excluded catalog products. You can change the Search filter to leave out excluded products and display only included products.

Include an excluded catalog product

  1. Select a catalog product.

  2. Click Action > Include.

 

Add a catalog product to a licensed product

  1. Click Action > Add to Licensed Product.

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts. Click the Help button if you need additional information.
