The Compliance Status (Consumption Data Source: Inventory) panel lists all entitlements that use installation information gathered from Inventory scans to calculate license consumption. By reviewing the information provided for each entitlement, you can quickly tell the license compliance status (compliant, overcompliant, or undercompliant) for the entitlement and for the entire licensed product.
License Entitlement: The entitlement’s description. Click the description to view details about the entitlement.
License Model: The entitlement’s license model (for example,
, , , and ).Versions Covered: The discovered product versions covered by the entitlement. The version (platform) is displayed for each discovered product. Click a version to display details about the covered product versions or to add or remove product versions.
Installations Covered: The number of installations covered by the entitlement’s consumed licenses.
For Machine, OEM, and Per-Installation entitlements, each installation consumes a license. Therefore, for these entitlements, the number of covered installations equals the number of consumed licenses.
For Per-User and Per-Named User entitlements, a user consumes one license regardless of the number of installations associated with the user. A user might have installations on five devices, but only one license is consumed. Therefore, for these entitlements, the number of covered installations can be greater than the number of consumed licenses.
The total
(for all entitlements) should equal the total in the License Consumption (Consumption Data Source: Inventory) panel. If it does not, some discovered product installations are not being covered by an entitlement. These installations are listed in the Unresolved Installations panel.License Quantity: The total number of licenses included in the entitlement, either through catalog products assigned to the entitlement or purchase summary records created for the entitlement. Click the quantity number to manage (view, add, or remove) the catalog products and purchase summary records that are contributing to the total license quantity.
Licenses Consumed: The number of licenses consumed by product installations covered by the entitlement.
Over/Under: The license compliance status. 0 indicates that the consumed licenses equal the number of available licenses for the entitlement (compliant). A negative number indicates that consumed licenses exceed the number of available licenses (undercompliant). A positive number indicates that available licenses exceed the consumed licenses (overcompliant).
