Documents

The Documents page lets you upload important documents pertaining to your software assets. After you upload a document, you can associate it with software contracts, license entitlements, and purchase summary records.

Upload a document

  1. Click New > Upload Document.

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts. Click the Help button if you need additional information.

 

Create a Hyperlink Document

  1. Click New > Hyperlink.

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts. Click the Help button if you need additional information

View details about a document

  1. Click the document ID.

 

View a document

  1. Click the filename.

Your workstation must have an application that can open the document. The document’s file type is listed in the File Type column.

Create a folder

  1. Click New.

  2. Specify a folder name.

  3. Click OK.

Move a document to another Documents folder

  1. Click the check box next to the document to select it.

  2. Click Move.

  3. Browse for and select the destination folder.

  4. Click OK.

 

Delete a folder or a document

  1. Select a folder or a document.

  2. Click Delete.

  3. Click OK.

Deleting a folder deletes the documents in the folder.

Search for a document

  1. In the Search panel, enter the search criteria. See the Additional Details column for information about the criteria.

  2. Click Search to apply the criteria to the Documents list.

  • Document ID: The document ID. The following search conventions are supported:

    • Character string: Enter a character string to find all documents with an ID that contains the character string. For example, enter 1 to display all document IDs that contain the number 1. Enter 354 to find all IDs that contain 354.

    • ? wildcard: Enter a ? to match one character. For example, enter ?1 to find all documents that have any character for the first character and 1 as the second character (for example, 01 and n1).

    • * wildcard: Enter a * to match zero or more characters. For example, enter 1* to find all document IDs that start with 1 (for example, 100 and 1312). Enter *1 to find all documents that end with 1 (for example, 21 and doc_1).

  • Document Name: The name of the document. The same search conventions explained for Document ID are supported for Document Name.

  • Type: All Types, Folder, or Document.

  • Document Type: The document type, such as doc, jpg, txt, tif, odt, csv, pdf, or hyperlink.

  • Attachment Status: Any, Attached, Not Attached.
