The Entitlements (Consumption Data Source: Inventory) panel lets you create new Inventory entitlements and manage existing entitlements. An Inventory entitlement draws its installation numbers from the discovered products assigned to the entitlement.
For each entitlement displayed in the list, the following information is provided:
Description: Name of the entitlement. Click the name to display the entitlement’s details.
Type: Entitlement type:

, or .License Model: The type of license model. Options are:
Per-Installation: Each installation of the entitlement’s discovered products consumes a license.
OEM: For each covered device, a license is consumed whether or not any of the entitlement’s discovered products are installed on the device. You specify the devices covered by the entitlement.
Machine: For each covered device, a license is consumed only if one of the entitlement’s discovered products is installed on the device. You specify the devices covered by the entitlement.
Per-User: Each user consumes a single license for any installations of the entitlement’s discovered products, regardless of the number of installations.
Per-Named User: Identical to the Per-User model, except you specify the users covered by the entitlement.
License Quantity: The total number of licenses included in the entitlement, either through catalog products assigned to the entitlement or purchase summary records created for the entitlement. Click the quantity number to manage (view, add, or remove) the catalog products and purchase summary records that are contributing to the total license quantity.
Quantity Available: The number of available licenses.
Versions Covered: The discovered products, listed by version, that are covered by the entitlement. Click a version to manage (view, add, or remove) the entitlement’s covered product versions.
Upgrade From: If the entitlement is a
