Allocation Type

There are two types of license allocations. Select the allocation type you want the wizard to create:

Device Allocation: Allocates a license to a specific device. To do so, the wizard searches the Inventory data to find the devices that have the product installed and then creates an allocation for each of those devices. The allocations (named by device) are listed in the Device Allocations panel on the licensed product’s License Allocations page.
Demographic Allocation: Allocates one or more licenses to a specific demographic (site, department, or cost center). To do so, the wizard uses demographic data included in the Inventory data or in the purchase record data. The allocations (named by demographic) are listed in the Demographic Allocations panel on the licensed product’s License Allocations page.

After running the wizard, you can manually add either allocation type. For example, if you select Department demographic allocations, you can later add additional Department demographic allocations or device allocations.
