Demographic Allocations

The Demographic Allocations panel is displayed only when demographic allocations are enabled (General page > License Allocation Settings panel).

This panel lets you allocate licenses based on demographic types (site, department, and cost center). For example, assume that DepartmentQ purchases 20 licenses of the product. When you allocate those 20 licenses to DepartmentQ, any product installations on devices assigned to DepartmentQ are tracked against the allocated licenses.

Initialize the allocations

  1. Locate the licensed product in the Licensed Product list (Asset Management tab > License Management tab > Licensed Products).

  2. Select the check box next to the licensed product, click Action > Initialize Allocations > OK.

  3. Complete the wizard. Click Help if you need more information about any of the wizard pages.

If you don’t want to manually add demographics, you can use the Initialize Allocations Wizard to create demographic allocations. The wizard uses purchase records or Inventory data as the source for the allocation information.

Add a demographic

  1. Click Add to display the Add Demographic Allocation dialog box.

  2. Select the demographic from the Site, Department, or Cost Center list.

  3. In the Allocated Quantity field, specify the number of licenses to allocate to the demographic.

  4. Click OK.

 

Remove a demographic

  1. Select the check box next to the demographic you want to remove.

  2. Click Remove.
