Interoperability of ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 Server Inventory with ZfD 3.x Workstation Inventory

You cannot install ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 Server Inventory and ZfD 3.x Workstation Inventory on the same machine. ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 and ZfD 3.x Inventory cannot co-exist in the same inventory tree. You cannot roll up the ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 inventory information to a ZfD 3.x Inventory server, or vice versa. Also, you cannot store the ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 and ZfD 3.x inventory information in the same Inventory database.

However, you can install ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 and ZfD 3.x on different machines or different inventory trees residing on the same Novell eDirectory^TM tree. If you want to install ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 and ZfD 3.x on the same eDirectory tree, follow these instructions:

• You must store the ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 and ZfD 3.x inventory information in different Inventory databases.
• To view, query, or report the inventory information of servers and workstations, you need different instances of ConsoleOne^® for ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 and ZfD 3.x.
• You must associate the ZfS Database Location policy with a server by configuring this policy in the ZfS 3.0.2 or ZfS 3 SP2 version of the Server Package.
