Novell and UnixWare Technology Group To Co-Sponsor UnixWare Solutions Pavilion at Blenheim Group USA UNIX EXPO Conference

SUMMIT, NJ, -- May 16, 1995 -- Vendors providing offerings based on Novell Inc.'s UnixWare operating system can participate in a showcase dedicated to the "Galaxy of UnixWare Solutions" during this Fall's UNIX EXPO at New York City's Javits Center.

Novell and UnixWare Technology Group (UTG), in cooperation with UNIX EXPO producers Blenheim Group USA, are sponsoring a UnixWare Solutions Pavilion at the show, September 19-21. The show is expected to attract more than 35,000 attendees interested in open systems and the roles of environments like UnixWare in those systems.

"Corporate computing users are looking for powerful, flexible foundations for their networks, today and tomorrow," said Mike DeFazio, executive vice president, Novell's UNIX Systems Group. "With UnixWare 2 now shipping, we are providing just such a platform. There is no more powerful evidence of this than the breadth and depth of third-party UnixWare offerings, as will be represented in the Solutions Pavilion we're hosting with UTG at UNIX EXPO," DeFazio said.

"UTG is excited to be hosting the Solutions Pavilion with Novell," said Lawrence Lytle, president and CEO of UTG, an independent trade association of companies advancing and promoting UnixWare and allied technologies. "Our members are among the leading providers of UnixWare solutions, and the Pavilion will be a valuable showcase of these solutions for users, analysts and reporters at the show," Lytle said.

The UnixWare Solutions Pavilion will be centrally located on the UNIX EXPO exhibit floor near Novell's primary space. It will give participating exhibitors "turnkey" exhibit spaces, complete with power, lit signage and other amenities, at a highly attractive price. The Pavilion will also be featured in advertising, direct-mail and publicity campaigns being conducted by Novell, UTG and Blenheim Group, producers of UNIX EXPO. UTG is also planning a reception at the Pavilion outside of exhibit hours for select industry guests.

Both Novell and UTG are actively recruiting exhibitors to participate in the Pavilion, with efforts focused on offerings that support UnixWare 2. The software began shipping generally on March 21. UnixWare 2 has received strongly positive reviews from industry analysts, the trade press and early users and product developers as a cost-effective application server platform. It combines industry-standard UNIX System V code with industry-leading performance, administration, ease of use, symmetric multiprocessing and integration with Novell's NetWare, the world's most popular networking software environment. UnixWare 2 is also supported by the members of UTG, the industry's only trade association focused on support and advancement of a specific UNIX System environment and its allied technologies.

Space in the UnixWare Solutions Pavilion is limited. Companies interested in participating should contact Don Berey of Blenheim Group USA via e-mail at dberey@blen-us.mhs.compuserve.com or via telephone at 1-800-829-3976 ext. 169.
