8.6 Bundle Behavior Based on Content Pre-cach Settings

When you created a bundle in earlier versions of ZENworks, the bundle inherited the content replication settings from its parent folder by default. However, with the introduction of Bundle Change Management, the behavior has been changed. For more information on this change, see the following table:

Task

Information

Creating a bundle (not as a sandbox)

  2. Click the Settings tab.

Publishing a bundle to create a new bundle as a sandbox

If you publish a bundle to create a new bundle with the Create as Sandbox option selected then the new bundle is created as a sandbox. The new bundle neither inherits settings from its parent folder nor does it replicate content by default.

To replicate the content on new Primary Servers:

  1. In ZENworks Control Center, click the bundle.

  2. Click the Settings tab.

If you want to replicate the content on new Satellite Servers, do the following:

Publishing a bundle to create a new bundle (not as a sandbox)

The settings of the new bundle depend on the source bundle from which it has been created.

  • If you publish a sandbox-only bundle whose replication settings have not been modified, the new bundle inherits settings from the parent folder.

  • If you publish a sandbox-only bundle whose replication settings have been modified, the modified replication settings are copied to the new bundle.

  • If you publish a sandbox that has been created from a published version or an older version of a bundle, the content replication settings from the published version of the source bundle are copied to new bundle.
