Form and Workflow Deployment

Introduction

Welcome to the form and workflow deployment instruction for Novell Vibe and 3.1. As things have changed drastically since Teaming 2, we deemed it necessary to rewrite the deployment instructions for Novell Vibe OnPrem 3 and 3.1. This guide assumes that you have already downloaded a form and workflows from the Novell Resource Library. If you have not, please do that before following the deployment instructions.

This guide will explain how to:

  1. Import forms and workflows into Novell Vibe
  2. Deploy the newly downloaded form and workflow in a folder on any given workspace within Novell Vibe by demonstrating how to create a global folder template.

This guide requires that you are logged in to Novell Vibe as Administrator.

Importing Forms and Workflows

This section will explain how to import the form and workflow globally and in a folder or workspace.

To import the form and workflow globally:

  1. Click Administration in the Masthed.

  2. In the navigation panel under System, select Form/View Designers.

  3. Select Import in the navigation bar.

  4. On the Import Definitions screen, click Choose File, locate your downloaded .zip file, and select OK.

To import the form and workflow locally (in a specific folder or workspace):

  1. Click Folder or Workspace in the Action Toolbar.
  2. In the menu that appears, select Form/View Designers.

  3. Select Import in the navigation bar.

  4. On the Import Definitions screen, click Choose File, locate your downloaded .zip file, and select OK.

Instructions on how to customize the forms and workflows will not be given in these deployment instructions. If you wish to learn more about customizing forms and workflows, please visit the Novell Vibe Resource Library.


Deploying Forms and Workflows

  1. Navigate to the where you want to deploy the imported form and workflow.
  2. In the Action Toolbar, click Folder.
  3. In the menu that appears, select Configure.

  4. Under Default Entry Types and Allowed Workflows, select the form (Default Entry Types) and the workflow (Allowed Workflows) that you imported.

  5. (Optional) If you want this to be the only form available in this folder, deselect any other forms that are checked in the Default Entry Types.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. In Workflow Associations next to the form, select the workflow name from the drop down list. This will associate the form and workflow together.

  8. Click Apply then close the window. You can now create entries in the folder using that form and workflow.
