1.0 Overview

The information in this Readme file pertains to Novell® ZENworks® 10 Configuration Management (v10.0.2).

2.0 About Version 10.0.2

This version provides fixes to some of the issues discovered in ZENworks 10 Configuration Management, ZENworks 10 Asset Management, and ZENworks 10 Patch Management.

Some version 10.0.2 changes might have been included in the English version of the ZENworks 10 Configuration Management guides after they were translated into other languages. We recommend that you check the English documentation for a complete list of the documentation updates. All untranslated documentation updates will be incorporated into the non-English versions of the online documentation with the next media release of ZENworks.

3.0 Product Issues

3.1 Issues Resolved by Version 10.0.2

Some of the issues identified in the initial version of ZENworks 10 Configuration Management have been resolved with this release. For a list of the resolved issues, see TID 3486285 in the Novell Support Knowledgebase.

3.2 Continuing Issues in ZENworks 10 Configuration Management

Some of the issues that were discovered in the original shipping version of ZENworks 10 Configuration Management have not yet been resolved. Review the Release Readme for continuing issues. The Release Readme has been updated to indicate which issues were fixed by the update.

3.3 Known Issues in Version 10.0.2

This section contains information about the known issues discovered in version 10.0.2.

3.3.1 ZENworks Control Center

  • If you have stages configured and click the System Update tab when the update is in the synching stage (after downloading and bundling), a null pointer exception might be thrown.

    Workaround: None.

3.3.2 Bundles

  • On 64-bit Windows 2003 Server SP2, the update downloads, but the bundling of the update fails to occur.

    Workaround: None.

  • If you use Internet Explorer 7.0 to create or edit a Windows* MSI bundle, the Browse button to upload the .msi file might not be visible.

    Workaround: This is a random behavior. Refresh the page.

  • Running applications such as MMC with the dynamic administrator privilege might fail.

    Workaround: None.

  • The user’s profile directory is not automatically deleted after the applications running with the dynamic administrator privilege are closed.

    Workaround: Manually delete the user's profile directory from the Windows Installation Directory\ Documents and Settings\ (For example c:\Documents and Settings\).

  • Assigning a bundle to a user fails if the availability schedule is configured.

    Workaround: None.

3.3.3 Policy

  • In Internet Explorer on 64-bit Windows devices, the Group policy helper cannot be installed directly by clicking the Install Group Policy Helper link.

    Workaround: Save the novell-zenworks-grouppolicyhelper-10.0.2.0.msi package to your local device, then double-click the MSI to install the package.

  • A policy is not effective on a managed device if the Environmental Variable Exists or the Environmental Variable Value system requirements are defined in the policy even if the environmental variables are set on the device.

    Workaround: None.
