Automating the addition of workstations to ZENworks Patch Management Groups

Novell ZENworks 7 Patch Management

PatchLink Server

PatchLink Server

The Agent Management Center allows for the creation of rules for adding workstations to groups. It is possible to automate this process.
Running the following command on a PC (the simplest way is to run this on the ZPM (ZENworks Patch Management) server, as it can authenticate locally)
"C:\Program Files\Patchlink\Agent Management Center\PLAgentManagementCenter.exe" /ENFORCERULES /LOGPATH "C:\LOGS" /SERVER [servername]
You can use any path you like for the logs, but the directory must already exist, the application will not create it for you. Replace [servername] with the name of your server. The log path will contain one file for each day that the command is run.
To completely automate, add this command to either the Windows Scheduler, or the ZENworks scheduler (if you have the ZENworks Desktop Management agent installed), and set it to run as often as required.
