Environment

Open Enterprise Server 2

Situation

Login to the OES2 server through iManager
Select File Protocols
Select Samba
Select the server object in the quick pick list or by clicking on the magnifying glass
After doing these steps the following error is displayed:
"This user does not have the correct credentials to authenticate to the CIMOM client"

Resolution

This can be caused by logging in to iManager with a user that is not LUM enabled.
If you find that the user you logged into iManager with is not LUM enabled and you LUM enable that user, remember to restart owcimomd afterward. rcowcimomd restart

Samba uses the Samba proxy user as defined in the "ldap admin dn” parameter in the /etc/samba/smb.conf file to access information about the Samba server, users, and shares.

Example: ldap admin dn = testserver-sambaProxy,o=container

Verify that this user is LUM enabled.
