Situation

What log files should be collected if there are problems running the Group Policy Helper in ZCC?

Resolution

If the the client machine running Group Policy Helper has the ZENworks Adaptive agent installed, then the messages go into zmd-messages.log (Remember to turn the debug on).

If the client machine running Group Policy Helper does not have ZENworks Adaptive agent installed, then messages
are logged in a file called zen_gp.log in the user's temp directory.
(C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Local\zen_gp.log)

Additional Information

Group Policy Helper is launched from ZCC from Policies, Edit, Windows Group Policy Settings, Configure.
It brings up the Windows Group Policy Editor - gpedit.msc.

ZCC Helper was introduced in ZCM 2017
Other ZCC Helper log is located:

C:\Users\<userid>\AppData\Roaming\Novell\ZENworks\ZCCHelper\Log\zcchelper.log
