ERROR: "8210 GroupWise cannot open the post office files."

Environment

Products:
Novell GroupWise 6.5
Novell GroupWise 7
Novell NetWare 6.5
Configuration:
Post office moved from a standalone server into a Netware cluster
Documents stored under Remote Storage Area
Remote Storage Area on the same volume as the post office

Configuration:
Archived large size of mailbox (in this case 7GB).

Situation

Symptoms:
ERROR: "8210 GroupWise cannot open the post office files."
Unable to open documents
Unable to create documents in the library
Documents appear blank when opened
8210 error while running quickfinder indexing
8210 error while trying to create a new document

Symptoms:
ERROR: "8210 GroupWise cannot open the post office files."
User get the above error on toggle between folders after a filter option is run.

Resolution

Corrective Actions:
1. Edit the POA startup file
2. Add /user and /password switch with the admin user name and password
3. Restart the POA

Corrective Actions:
1. The permission of the folder C:\Program Files\Novell\GroupWise on the local workstation was read only. Setting it back to normal fixed the problem.
