Environment

Novell NetWare 6.5
Novell Open Enterprise Server (Linux based)
Novell Server Consolidation and Migration Toolkit.

Situation

Using the Server Consolidation Utility to migrate data from NetWare 6.5 clustered NSS volume to NSS Volume on Novell Open Enterprise Server (Linux Based) fails with the following error:

'ERROR: SMSConnOpen Xfffefff0 - NWSMDR error: The specified TSA does not exist.' occurred attempting to open the connection to the SMDR from server 'SERVER_A' to server 'SERVER_B'.

CAUSE
TSAFS on Cluster Node was being loaded with /NOCLUSTER option.
When configuring certain backup solutions that are not Cluster aware, the flag /nocluster needs to be used when loading TSAFS.NLM. Using this flag on a NetWare 6.5 server we plan to migrate data to, or from, with the Server Consolidation Utility causes the Cluster enabled volumes to not be seen by the TSAs.

Resolution

Reload TSAFS.NLM with the flag /cluster -- LOAD TSAFS.NLM /cluster -- at the console prompt.
