Environment

Novell GroupWise 2012
Novell GroupWise 8
Novell Data Synchronizer Mobility Pack

Situation

You create a regular appointment (not posted) in your Calendar by GroupWise client and then sync on a phone. Then you decide to change either a time or a date of the appointment from a phone which works fine. However, no matter how many times you sync a phone, this change is never reflected in GroupWise Calendar.
When you look in a mobility log (Diagnostic logging level) you will find lines that have similar info:

!!!Checking to make sure user is organizer!!!
!!!Found existing appointment!!!
!!!Organizer_Email = FirstName.LastName@idomain.com!!!
!!!User is not organizer - not sending meeting request!!!

Resolution

This has been reported to the development.

Cause

A reason behind Datasync considers that you are not a person who created an appointment, thus not sending it to a GroupWise is object naming format in various palces and email address.
If you have eDir object / GW object name like JDoe, this will be also an application ID within a Datasync. You also use in GroupWise Internet Addressing format First.Last@domain / Last.First@domain.
Datasync searches for application name, i.e. JDoe in the email format part - here, for instance Jo.Doe@domain and does not find a match. Therefore a Datasync considers a change was not done by the original organizer.
